West Ham United have been linked to many strikers already this transfer window, but their chase for West Brom striker Salomon Rondón feels a bit more realistic.
The Baggies striker spent last season out on loan to Newcastle United. The Venezuelan impressed throughout last season in the Premier League. Rondón was even voted Newcastle player of the season.
West Ham United will surely have to challenge Newcastle for the player’s signature ahead of the 2019/20 season. Other clubs could also be interested in the player as he has a £16.5 million release clause in his contract.
If the Hammers were to sign Rondón he would provide good competition with striker Marko Arnautovic. The Austrian scored ten goals and provided four assists in 28 games last season. West Ham have be attracted to Rondón who scored eleven goals and providing seven assists in 32 appearences. The strikers ability to score and create goals would make him a valuable asset for the East London side.

West Ham may have an advantage over other clubs vying to sign the 29-year-old. Manger Manuel Pellegrini managed the striker during his successful spell at Malaga in Spain.
Some West Ham fans might be disappointed in the signing as Rondón is close to being 30-years-old. The Hammers board did come out and say that they would be targeting younger players. This comes around as West Ham have the second oldest side in the Premier League on average.

West Ham United will be in need of a new striker this summer. Andy Carroll is out of contract and is not expected to receive a new one. While Lucas Perez is expected to complete a move back to Spain. It is has been reported that he is closing in on a £2 million move to Deportivo Alaves.
Although, there is a long way to go before Rondón is seen in the famous claret and blue as they have a long list of striker targets. Their list includes players such as Alexander Mitrovic (Fulham) Maxi Gomez (Celta Vigo) Che Adams (Birmingham) and Neal Maupay (Brentford).
